Malmö Folkets Park" - Photography The entrance to Malmö Folkets Park in 1950. Photo from SDS image archive. The park on Möllevången is the world's oldest park created by a people's movement. It was bought by the labor movement in 1891 and quickly became a gathering place for workers. The park had its heyday from the 1930s to the mid-1950s. During a period, Malmö's then bourgeois political majority changed the name to Malmöparken but it never caught on and soon the name Folkets Park was back. The park is owned by the municipality and even today visitors can stroll around the park and enjoy an ice cream or a cold beer. - FAQ
