Reija Karjalainen about "Woman in Kimono": "An element of my art, which has been present ever since I started painting, is that I use a bronze powder that I mix. It's very important to me that the gold comes out". I like the motif "Woman in Kimono" a lot, maybe because I get a feeling of New York, as I painted it after one of my exhibitions there. It was quite a big party at the opening and a bit of fun to experience the glamor when the champagne flowed!". Graphic sheet that adds a golden edge to existence The artist Reija Karjalainen draws with charcoal pen directly on linen cloth, and then brushes a thin layer with oil paint. "The charcoal pen cannot be erased, so you have to think about it, because they are really snapshots, then it becomes what it becomes," says Reija Karjalainen.
