"Like great white ghosts they hang in a row. Barely visible in the dim light of the lamp in the attic. As a child, I remember when my mum had a big wash of white sheets that she then hung on lines to dry. How scary it was to pass these "ghosts" under the rafters when you went to get something from the dark attic."
