Ingrid Roth on "Winter Family": "I like to paint naively with inspiration from both Chagall's Russian villages and the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Sometimes I work completely freely. I start somewhere on the canvas and let it develop without thinking too much. It happens by itself, and I just follow along as if the brush had something to say. I am drawn into musings, and often the pictures are rooted in dreams and memories."
