Before the storm - robin: - There is a thought or story behind almost all of my paintings, says the artist Lars Fredholm. About the painting Before the storm - robin, Lars says: It is not always so easy to see the robin as it often stays hidden low on the ground under bushes and the like, but is always always present. This individual posed so beautifully on one of the posts in the paddock outside the stable gate, surely as aware as we were of the approaching storm. I imagine it was just waiting for us to get the horses in so it could wedge in and take shelter in the stable. And, indeed, when I looked at the horses later in the evening while the wind howled and howled, I found the robin sitting on a low wall in the stable, sheltered from the rain and wind. I'm glad it found its way in because then I know it will do well.
