Kingsparken i Malmö" - Photography The picture "Kingsparken i Malmö" was taken in 1950 by the photographer Jan Andersson. The motif represents the sculpture Solrosen which stands in Kungsparken, in Malmö north of the main entrance. Kungsparken was opened in 1872 and is Malmö's oldest public city park. At first the park was called Slottsparken, but was later named Kung Oscars park after King Oscar II, which in everyday speech was soon shortened to Kungsparken. The statue in the picture was made by the sculptor Axel Ebbe and is his very first public work of art (1911), in retrospect also one of his most famous. The painting is sold framed and is in the format 70 x 50 cm. - FAQ
