Waterworld, Piran Slovenia1 : - At 04.45 the alarm clock rings. I am at the beach hotel in the middle of Piran and barely have time to wake up before we are in the car on our way out of town. It takes half an hour before we reach the abandoned salt beds that are the morning's goal. The dawn light is absolutely magical. The sky is reflected in the water surfaces that run in channels and in large open beds. The birds are everywhere and the air is full of chirps and beeps. A light wind makes the reeds and grass sing along. We move on foot along the corridors between the beds and they go on forever. At least until the Croatian border we learn. Photo art in limited edition Photographer Catarina Kent travels all over the world to find motifs for her photo art. The special expression of the images comes partly from the post-processing process, where Catarina enhances the images with digital processing that enhances their poetic qualities and lifts them from the documentary approach. Here it is a landscape in Slovenia where the water and the sky seem to reflect each other.
